Category : Report
Date : 25/02/2010

Slims Consulting are pleased to announce that the first instalment in the Economic Statement Series 2010 is now available to download from the members' section of this website.

Please note that if you were previously registered for access to the website, you may need to re-register in order to access these reports.  You can do this by clicking on 'sign-up' on the top right hand corner of the home page and giving your name and organisation details.

This first report focuses on the strategic objective set out in the Government Economic Strategy of creating a Wealthier and Fairer Scotland.  It is set out in five main sections which directly relate to the Purpose Targets set out in the National Performance Framework, namely:
  • Economic Growth
  • Productivity
  • Labour Market Participation
  • Population
  • Ensuring Growth is Shared and Sustainable
This year, we have retained the focus of our reports on measuring progress towards the GES targets, but have also added:
  • additional analysis and commentary around sustainability measures;
  • a review of the emerging evidence of the impact of the recession on our member areas.
The next report in the series will be focused on the strategic objective of creating a Smarter Scotland and will cover skills, employability and HE/FE provision.
Finally, as always, we would welcome your feedback on these reports.  If you do have any comments or queries, please contact Chris Brodie (Managing Director) at chris.brodie@slims.org.uk.
